Ring Care Guide
At Majestic Forge Rings, we take pride in creating rings that are not only exquisite but also durable and designed to withstand everyday wear. Many of our rings are crafted from reclaimed and natural materials, giving them a unique, organic beauty. However, these materials may be more sensitive to impact, scratches, and water compared to solid metal bands. Follow these care instructions to keep your ring in excellent condition for years to come.
Protecting the Durability of Your Ring
Our rings are sealed with premium, water-resistant finishes to enhance their durability and resistance to the elements. While this makes them suitable for everyday activities like showering, washing dishes, or swimming, itβs important to avoid damaging the seal.
- Water Resistance: The sealant provides water resistance but is not indestructible. Avoid prolonged water exposure or submersion, as it can weaken the protective coating.
- Impact and Scratches: Natural materials, while stunning, are not as tough as solid metals. Handle your ring with care and avoid impacts with hard surfaces.
For wooden rings, the natural oils from your skin help maintain their condition. For additional care, you can occasionally apply butcher block oil and leave the ring off overnight to keep it nourished and protected.
Please Note: While our sealing process enhances durability, it does not guarantee against damage caused by water, impact, or chemicals. We recommend removing your ring during manual labor, chemical use, or prolonged water exposure, especially for rings made with materials like antler or wood without metal edging.
Preventing High-Impact Damage
Be cautious of high-impact damage. Striking your ring against a hard surface can chip or crack the sealant, compromising its protective layer. Always handle your ring with care to preserve its beauty.
Cleaning Your Ring
Daily wear may cause your ring to lose its shine over time, but restoring its brilliance is simple. For rings without crushed materials, prepare a mixture of warm water and a small amount of dish soap in a bowl. Place your ring in the solution and let it soak for approximately four minutes. Afterward, gently clean the ring using a soft-bristled brush or a new toothbrush, paying close attention to any crevices or detailed areas.
If your ring contains crushed minerals, such as turquoise or antler, avoid soaking it in water. Instead, dip the brush into the soapy mixture and carefully scrub the ring to clean it.
For a more thorough restoration, you may consider professional polishing. Every five years, visit a local jeweler who can polish the metal components of your ring to bring back their original brilliance while also cleaning the entire piece.
